So far I am really enjoying this book! It has a nice amount of adventure, comedy and it's very eventful. What I really enjoy about this book is that it's in the dog's point of view. I think it's really interesting to look at the relationship between dogs and humans from a different point of view. Something I don't really like about it is how long it takes the Bailey(the dog) to figure something out, like the dog door. The whole time Bailey was in the garage and had to go to the bathroom my mind was screaming, "Just push the dog door and go outside!" but of course it took him a while to figure that out. My least favorite character so far is Todd. I had a hunch that he wasn't trustworthy, but my hunch was confirmed when he tried to kill Bailey! I don't know why he would want to do such a thing. Overall, the beginning of this book is very good and I look forward to reading the rest of it.
My number one celebrity that I would like to be friends with is Shawn Mendes. I would love to be friends with Shawn Mendes because he's generous and kind to everyone. He's also humble and extremely talented. Not to mention, he's gorgeous. It would be cool to be friends with him also because it would be a nice way to get our relationship started.
The second person I would want to be friends with is Mitch Grassi from Pentatonix. It would be fun to be friends with him because he's such a free spirit and he doesn't care what others say about him. I personally enjoyed The Boy in the Striped Pajamas more than the book Night. I enjoyed the movie more because it was easier to follow than Night. Night was sort of hard to follow because there was a constant change of scenery or there was always something happening, so it was a little chaotic. It was also hard to follow the story line of Night because there were no visuals, so you would have to imagine what the location looked like. The Boy in the Striped Pajamas was easier to follow because if you didn't know what was going on, you could use context clues to help you figure it out. Also, the movie basically had only one location so it was easier to know what was going on.
Gretel from The Boy in the Striped Pajamas was a very interesting character because she seemed to change her perspective near the end of the movie. Gretel was a German/Nazi girl that had long blonde hair in two braids, she wore what looked like a formal school uniform on a daily bases. At the beginning of the movie, she agreed with whatever her dad said about the Jewish population. She believed that all Jews were evil and deserved to die or be in concentration camps. She was also very pro-Nazi because she had a crush on one of the Nazi soldiers, so she was trying to impress him. Near the end of the movie, she realizes what happens at the concentration camps when Bruno tries to go into the camp. She realizes that her beliefs were wrong when Bruno went into the camp, so she felt what the Jewish families felt when their families were killed. Over winter break I went to my Grandma's house in Coralville for Christmas. My family spent Christmas eve and Christmas day over there. For Christmas I got a new speaker and a lot of new clothes from my grandma. I also got some new makeup and candy from my parents. I spent a lot of time with my sister and my cousins. Me and my family typically eat a lot of food over the holidays, so my grandma made a huge Christmas dinner, then we went home.
For New Years Eve we went to my aunt and uncle's house in Des Moines. My cousins came back from Oklahoma, and my other cousin came back from California. So it was very nice to see them. We stayed for 2 days, then came home. I hung out with a lot of my friends for the rest of break, along with dance practice. So my break was very fun and eventful. The article is basically about all the life skills that you'll need by the time you're 18. There were 8 skills that they listed. For example, you need to be able to talk to a stranger like a cashier. For each skill they listed, they gave an explanation about how and why they should have these skills.
